Eyelid Surgery

The eyes are the focal point of the face and the one feature which we associate most with personal identity. Therefore, aging eyelids can obscure youth, happiness, and the way you truly feel about yourself, making you look tired, sad, and older than you really are. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, in Tampa, Florida performed by Dr. Michael E. Jasin can rejuvenate upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Sometimes, aging is exacerbated by drooping of the eyebrows or sagging skin in the mid-face. In this instance, blepharoplasty can be combined with a brow lift or a facelift in Tampa.

At the Jasin Facial Rejuvenation Institute, we strive to provide you with a simple yet fulfilling experience. Eyelid Lift Procedure

Upper Eyelids:

Over time, the upper lids begin to sag, droop, and appear puffy, due to fat deposits and loss of skin elasticity. Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids. A small incision is made in the natural fold of the eyelid, so that the scar becomes inconspicuous. Dr. Jasin uses a laser to make the incision, which helps to reduce bruising and swelling. The end result is a more rested, refreshed appearance.

Lower Eyelids:

Puffiness or bags in the lower eyelids can occur due to aging or as a familial trait. The skin may become redundant and dark circles may appear. The puffiness is due to fat from around the eye bulging forward. Lower lid blepharoplasty treats the puffiness by removing or repositioning the excess fat. Dr. Jasin does this with an internal incision made with the laser to reduce bruising and swelling. If indicated, laser skin resurfacing can be incorporated to smooth and tighten the lower lid skin. By making an internal incision, the risk of ectropion, or pulling down on the lower lids, is reduced.

All patients receive treatment in our Tampa state of the art fully accredited facility.

Recovery

Dr. Jasin is well known for preserving the patient's natural features and not making them look surprised or like someone else. We generally tell our Florida eyelid surgery patients that they will need about 1 week to 10 days off of work.
