Laser skin resurfacing can make your face and neck look younger without surgery. Laugh lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, acne scars, and areas of discoloration can be reduced or removed. Collagen production is stimulated, rejuvenating the skin.
Absorption of the Erbium laser is much greater than the CO2 laser, making it more efficient in vaporizing the targeted tissue without damaging the surrounding tissue. This means that less anesthesia is required, and healing time and redness are reduced.
No. We use local or topical anesthesia during the procedure.
No. The laser skin resurfacing procedure is performed in our office and does not require general anesthesia, so you can go home shortly afterwards.
This is partly up to you because you choose the depth of the procedure. Overall you will experience some redness and possibly minimal swelling. We will provide healing ointment for you to apply at home, and you will need to protect your new, fresh skin from the sun. Even if you choose the maximizing peel, recovery is much faster with less redness and swelling than with other laser resurfacing techniques. There is no need for dressings and you will be able to wear makeup again in a matter of days.
Scarring is very unlikely with this procedure. The Erbium laser is very safe and gentle. It is effective with less heat than other methods and does not create scars.
Not anymore. We can remove moles and sun damage with the Erbium laser, eliminating the need for incisions and stitches.
Yes. Laser skin resurfacing is a great addition to other procedures such as the Simplicity Lift or eyelid surgery.
Dr. Jasin has been using the Erbium laser for 10 years and lectures internationally on his unique Erbium laser resurfacing technique.
