"The Invisible Touch™" Injectable Mid Facelift

A key area of the aging face is the area between the eyes and the corners of the mouth, known as the mid face. The main components of the mid face are the lower eyelids, cheeks, and nasolabial folds, which run between the nose and the corners of the mouth. Aging of the mid face is manifested by a descent of the cheek fat pads. This descent or drop in the position of the fat pads causes various signs of aging such as flattening of the cheek below the eyelid, accentuation of the nasolabial folds, creation of a crease below the eyelid called the tear trough and formation of a fold extending from the tear trough onto the cheek. The tear trough deformity creates a tired look by making the lower eyelids appear more puffy and causing a demarcation between the cheek and eyelid versus the gradual transition seen with a youthful contour. Many times people believe, or are told, they need a lower eyelid surgery when, in fact, what they need is volume restoration below the eyelid.
The concept of facial recontouring is probably best demonstrated when treating the mid face. Replacing volume in the mid face reduces or eliminates the tear trough making the eyelids look more youthful and less tired. Restoring volume in the cheeks recreates the contour of our youth by erasing the flattening and hollowing seen as a result of aging and by softening the nasolabial folds. Reversing the signs of aging in the mid face produces a facelift type effect all with a simple, non-invasive injection technique.
It has been Dr. Jasin’s experience (which is extensive) that the injectable filler most suited for mid face recontouring is Radiesse. A unique feature of Radiesse is that it can be effective when placed in multiple tissue planes or layers. The ability to place Radiesse directly onto the bone of the cheek allows for very natural lifting and filling of the mid face, replacing volume in a plane where it has been lost versus pumping the skin full of a filler to camouflage the loss of volume below. In Dr. Jasin’s opinion, volume replacement of the cheek produces a much more effective rejuvenation of the mid face than can be produced with surgery.
Dr. Jasin’s personal technique for injectable mid face rejuvenation is known as the “Invisible Touch™.”What makes this technique so unique is that the entry points for the injections are inside the mouth and placement of the filler is deeper, directly on the bone, to naturally lift and fill the mid face without lumps and bumps. The “Invisible Touch™ Technique” also reduces or eliminates bruising so there are few tell-tale signs that you have had a treatment. Whereas these treatments were previously done with a dental block type of local anesthesia, the local anesthetic is now mixed with the Radiesse, usually eliminating the need for blocks and keeping the treatment as comfortable as possible.
Facial volume enhancement is a rapidly growing aspect of facial rejuvenation, and Dr. Jasin is an internationally respected leader at the forefront of this new frontier.
